If the theme simple layout and dont have more features, it will have less files. The theme we created with many features to help user choose different layout design, and include many modules to support display complex blocks on frontend, so it should have more files. If you just want to use the theme layout and skin you just need theme files, and dont need setup there extensions of the theme (but it will loss many features which we created for the theme). If you need any assistant about the theme to integrate it to your site, let me know
