Yes you can do it. Please try to the solution to move layered filter to after category image (horizontal layered filter)

Then you should go to admin > Catalog > Attributes >Manage Attributes. Filter attribute “ves_brand” edit it and set option allow “Use In Layered Navigation” = “Filterable”
